My name is Zak Fitzsimons. I’m twenty-one years old and live in Thorne, a town just outside Doncaster.
I have A-levels in English, History and Law. Not only do I have 8 GCSE’s and BTEC’s, (including English & Maths) but I also have a certificate in customer care from the BT traineeship I attended last August-September.
I attended Leeds Metropolitan University studying Politics in the 2012/2013 academic year. I did not complete the course because I did not enjoy the learning material and wished to peruse a career in the Navy, however because of medical issues I was not able to do this. At university I did learn the necessity of working to deadlines.
Since leaving university I have worked in the BT contact centre in a retention adviser role. In this role I improved my communications skills and learned more about the importance of working in a team, as well as essential time management skills that an efficient employee must have. It also taught me about and gave me experience in the areas of conflict resolution and customer care, as well as the importance of reaching an agreeable outcome between the customer and business.
In my personal time I enjoy writing short horror stories and reading, mostly Stephen King novels and non-fiction books concerning ancient history. I’m a good teamworker and will take charge when needed. I like to meet and work with new people and consider myself to be hardworking and trustworthy.
I am interested in a career or apprenticeship in IT. I’ve owned a computer since I was seven years old, I enjoy working with computers, recently built my own computer and built my own website when I was ten.
