My name is Carol Hirst, I’m 23 and I live in Thorne in Doncaster.
I am an enthusiastic and approachable person with good communication skills which I have gained through my previous experience of volunteering in the retail sector. This experience has also helped me to build on others skills such as customer service and cash handling.
I have completed a work based customer service course and I am willing to undertake any further training as required. I also have gained GCSEs in English and Business Communications, City & Guilds Level 1 Maths and a BTEC diploma in Media.
I am currently volunteering at Barnardos where I work as stock assistant, responsible for taking donations from customers, sorting them, pricing them and displaying them on the shop floor. I also work on the till and deal with customer queries. I have completed work experience at Poundland in Dewsbury as a Retail Assistant, where I was responsible for all stock replenishment and making sure that stock was rotated, displayed correctly and that the store was kept clean and tidy at all times. Whilst at school and college I have assisted various family members in their businesses which included courier support, loading and unloading items and taking care of high value items and assisting with cleaning duties in a domestic cleaning business.
My ambitions are to develop on the skills I have gained already and I am also willing to learn new skills within the workplace as I am an easy-going and open-minded individual. I really enjoy working in a customer facing environment, meeting new people and developing long term relationships based on the excellent customer service I provide.
